Ericsson Wins Vodafone Italy Network Management Contract

Vodafone Italia, the country's second largest mobile operator by subscribers, has selected Ericsson to manage its field operations. The contract is a five-year agreement covering fixed and mobile access, transmission networks and fixed network nodes. In April 2011 it was reported in local press that unions planned to protest the deal, but a deal for Ericsson to absorb Vodafone Italia staff has helped it to secure the contract, BMI believes.
