VimpelCom Making Progress In Broadband

VimpelCom , which owns Ukrainian operator Kyivstar , announced its Q111 results, reporting 23% y-o-y growth in group revenues to US$6.5bn and 55% y-o-y growth in net income to US$590mn. The incorporation of Kyivstar, completed in Q210, accounted for 64.5% of group revenue growth and 23.8% of net income growth. BMI expects VimpelCom's Ukrainian operations to continue to contribute positively to group performance in the medium term, with the primary impetus coming from fixed broadband operations.
