Telefonica Expands 3G Coverage

Telefonica Czech Republic has announced that it has expanded its 3G coverage to additional towns, with further expansion set to be completed in June 2011. The expansion follows a network sharing agreement formed with T-Mobile in Q111. BMI considers Telefonica's 3G expansion positively as a means of countering price pressures in the traditional voice segment while highlighting limitations to the positive contribution 3G services can make to the operator's performance.
