Best Buy Launches On Clearwire, But Market Leans Towards LightSquared And LTE

Struggling US mobile WiMAX operator Clearwire is seeing support for its mobile broadband business fall away, as investors and service partners turn to new entrant LightSpeed and its planned wholesale LTE network to support their wireless connectivity needs. Clearwire, which is becoming increasingly distant from its principal backer, Sprint Nextel, has just added US consumer electronics retailer Best Buy as a provider of its services but here, too, there are signs that Best Buy may simply be marking time until LightSquared is operational.
